What do you do to feed your creativity? I'm sure there are a million ways but one of my favourites is to sketch at the English National Ballet. I try and make time go several times a year. Most recently I was at the London Coliseum for the Nutcracker rehearsals. The sketching part is called "live" rather than "life" drawing as it's pretty fast paced.
What I capture on the page are mere gestures rather than full blown sketches. The dancers are whizzing around, leaping through the air, pirouetting and rehearsing for that night's performance.
But these gestures are a kind of dancing shorthand to me. I review them later, enhance them, add details and if I'm lucky create new works from them. They capture my imagination, spark my creativity and feed my work.
