Description

Join me for a relaxed afternoon of painting as we capture the beauty and character of the vibrant kingfisher in loose, expressive watercolour. In this longer 2.5-hour workshop, I’ll guide you step by step through the process – from laying down bold washes to adding the finer details that bring this cheeky little bird to life. Along the way, you’ll pick up tips and tricks for colour mixing, layering, and creating movement in your painting. A big thank you to wildlife photographer Bianca Huisman-Maaskant for the fabulous kingfisher reference photo. You can see more of her stunning wildlife photography on Instagram (link below): https://www.instagram.com/biancahuismanphotography/ ✨ What to expect: A friendly, supportive atmosphere – beginners upwards welcome and I have allowed 2 and a half hours for this class Step-by-step demonstrations and plenty of guidance Learn techniques for feathers, water, and capturing expression All materials provided – just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm Take home your own finished kingfisher painting No drawing skills required – I’ll provide the sketch outline so you can focus on the fun part: painting! £28 DATE: Saturday 25th October TIME: 2-4:30pm - please note, this is a slightly longer class than normal LOCATION: The Rayner's Room, Harrow Art Centre.
