Paint an abstract watercolour seascape with me Experiment with watercolour seascapes inspired by the stunning inlets of Clew Bay, near Carrowsallagh on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. In this relaxed Saturday afternoon workshop, you’ll explore layering, wet-in-wet techniques, splattering and mark-making to capture movement, mood and light in a contemporary, painterly style. Confident beginners welcome, but better suited to those who are familiar with watercolour or have painted with me 2 or 3 times before. Plenty of guidance, encouragement and creative freedom along the way. Expect a cosy, friendly session and a painting full of energy and emotion to take home with you. It has more than a hundred small islands on its landward side, Ireland's best example of sunken drumlins. The larger Clare Island guards the entrance of the bay. The bay is overlooked by Croagh Patrick to the south and the Nephin Beg Mountains to the north.
